Donor Privacy Policy

OUTREACH Association of Volunteers for Rural Development is a registered non-governmental organisation (NGO) under the Societies Registration Act, with valid registrations under FCRA, Social Stock Exchange (SSE), 12AB, and 80G. We are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our donors and visitors to our website. We value your privacy and are dedicated to protecting your personal and financial information.

Privacy Commitment

We treat all personal and financial information related to donations as highly confidential. In particular:

  • No Sharing of Contact Information: OUTREACH does not share, trade, or sell email addresses, phone numbers, or any personal information of our donors or constituents to any other organisation or entity.
  • Data Collection: We may collect personal information such as name, address, phone number, email address, and payment information only for processing donations.
  • Use of Personal Information: This information will only be used for internal purposes related to donations, communication, and donor engagement, unless we have your explicit consent for other uses.
  • Opt-Out Options:
  • Donors may request at any time not to receive solicitations from us.
  • Donors may choose to opt out of specific mailings, such as newsletters or updates.

Website and Data Security

  • We do not track, collect, or distribute personal information from visitors to our website unless explicitly provided by the user (e.g. through donation or contact forms).
  • All personal information stored in our internal database is protected by:
  • Secure login with authentication
  • Unique user IDs and passwords
  • Regular password updates
  • Deactivation of accounts when access is no longer required

Donor Rights and Transparency

In line with best practices in nonprofit governance and donor relations, OUTREACH assures the following:

  • Donors will be informed of our mission, how donations will be used, and our capacity to use funds effectively for the intended purpose.
  • Funds donated will be used primarily to support the organisation’s objectives, including but not limited to: assistance to vulnerable groups in rural and urban areas, water conservation, skill development and training, community development programs, and natural resource management. In case of any excess funds at the end of a specific initiative, the resources will be redirected towards other ongoing projects aligned with our mission.
  • Donors have access to our most recent audited financial statements upon request.
  • Donors will receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition (unless they request anonymity).
  • Donors can expect that their information will be handled with respect and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
  • All individuals interacting with donors will maintain a professional and respectful relationship.
  • Donors will be informed whether fundraisers represent OUTREACH as employees, volunteers, or third-party solicitors.
  • Donors may request removal of their name and contact details from any shared mailing lists (though currently we do not share such lists).
  • Donors have the right to ask questions about the organisation and its programs, and to receive prompt, truthful, and transparent responses.
