Past Projects​

OUTREACH, has developed the use and application of Participatory Methodologies in a range of subjects such as Natural Resources Management (Rainfed Farming, Watershed Management, Forestry & Agro Forestry, Livestock), Health, Water and Sanitation, Fisheries, Sericulture, Credit, Rehabilitation and Urban Slums. The use and applications of participatory methodologies during different stages of the project life cycle from planning to implementation, monitoring and evaluating are also being developed and used widely. This specialization has been a key factor in the establishment of OUTREACH as a leading Training Organization in India.

In the field of training, apart from addressing the capacity building needs of grass roots community based organizations, OUTREACH also trains staff from Government, Non-Government Organization and Banks, Research organizations, Universities and other mainstream organizations.

OUTREACH conducted prestigious training programme on ‘Community Forest Management’ for forest officer’s from Sri Lanka with an active involvement of its society member, Dr.S.N Rai, IFS (Rtd)., OUTREACH has also worked with several organizations abroad mainly promoting the use of participatory methodology in Rural and Urban Development activities.

Members of OUTREACH staff undertake short training assignments overseas (mainly in countries in the Southern African region and also in the Far East. OUTREACH also hosts an annual program known as the South-South exchange program, which was developed in order to give exposure to persons engaged in rural development, from Southern developing countries. Participants are given an exposure to various Government organizations, NGOs, rural communities , rural development projects and institutions.
